LDPC Decoder for Digital Video Broadcast

Description:
Abilis, a startup based in Geneva, has designed the world’s smallest digital mobile TV receiver for Digital Video Broadcast (DVB-H/T) applications. A new challenge is to design the receiver for the new TV broadcasting standard DVB-T2. This project is about doing exploratory work towards the implementation of the LDPC decoder for the new standard.

Objective:
Read, understand, and implement in C (or C++) the LDPC encoding/deconding functionality described in the new standard. Identify the bottlenecks of the code. Suggest and possibly implement alternative solutions that have potential for reducing the decoder complexity. Depending on the evolution of the project, the candidate may have the opportunity to interact with the engineers at Abilis.

Prerequisites:
Programming skills and basic notions of coding and digital communications
