Master semester project: 2008-2009

Facebrowser on Facebook

Description:
The idea of facebrowsing is to make a database of faces navigable. By navigable we mean that a user who has a face in mind could search the database by following a path of pictures which look more and more similar to the searched one. To achieve this goal, we would need the users' input in the form of simple associations between similar pictures.

Objective:
In this project, we would first study a simple theoretical model to understand and test our algorithms. In a second phase, depending on time and the interests of the students, we would then either continue the development of an existing test platform or potentially develop a Facebook application. The interest of the second option is of course that we would have immediate access to a huge database of pictures and users.

Prerequisites: Php and Matlab programming would be a plus
