Master semester project: 2007-2008

Mesh coding

Description:
Mesh coding has been a hot research topic in the computer graphics community. One of the approach used there is to transform a mesh on an arbitrary surface to a regular grid, then use traditional image compression tools to perform the compression.

Objective:

In this project, the student will learn about mesh compression, and design algorithm to combine the image compression algorithm with the transforms. See reference .
